@Stake - part of Art in Place 2022
As a response to the violence epidemic in the United States, CNL Projects and Terrain Exhibitions have relaunched ART-IN-PLACE for late summer 2022. Over two years after the first iteration, ART-IN-PLACE continues its efforts to bring people together to call us to action through the experience of public art between September 1 - October 15, 2022. This collective action provides artists and community members in neighborhoods throughout the country with a sense of hope and connectivity and offers opportunities to impact change fundamental to our human rights. About @Stake (above): Like a marker in a garden...this stake presents words collected from community members, penciled onto wooden prams (boats) and situated near the lakefront amidst the dune grass. A directional reminder of things at stake given the state of things in our country and around the world.

GuardLife #75 - part of Art in Place 2020
ART-IN-PLACE is a collaboration between CNL Projects and Terrain Exhibitions that invites artists to exhibit an original work of art outside their home or from a window visible to the public. This collective action provides artists and community members in Chicagoland neighborhoods (and beyond) with a sense of hope and connectivity through the experience of public art during an unprecedented moment of isolation.
About GuardLife #75 (above): I have a series of work based on life guard stands - a metaphor for safety. Currently, the beaches are closed and our safety is in question. This stand was created to represent the hope of a safer future. It was assembled with found wood on Osterman Beach in Edgewater and installed for viewing by neighboring buildings.
